When you turn off the main drive and onto Madrone, you are instantly dwarfed by towering redwoods. This park among the majestic giants has been enjoyed for many years. It is cool and shady and borders on a creek. The fencing along the road is not very secure and there is no way to keep a running toddler in. There is a large hexagonal sand box, 5 toddler full-bucket swings, 4 big kid swings, a long curly metal slide that’s a hoot and shorter slides of plastic and metal. You must try the great old merry-go-round and there are several climbing structures and monkey bars. The entire area is covered in a bed of soft sand mixed with pine needles. A small picnic area sits inside one end of the playground.
