As found with many structures in Sausalito, this playground is built into a hill by means of terraces. Strollers may approach it from below, stairs must be negotiated from above. The play equipment is on a bed of soft sand and is fully fenced. The top terrace is for toddlers with two toddler full-bucket swings, a wooden climbing structure, two slides, one a tunnel, the other a broad metal slide that warrants supervision. The lower terrace for older kids houses a tire swing, two big kid swings and a great long slide all of which are mounted on a wooden play structure. There is a metal climbing gym set apart from the rest. The area is surrounded by a large lawn, a lighted basketball court, and a small picnic area.
Bonus The Parks and Recreation Department houses activities for young children such as music and playtime in the basement of the building.
